Chasing Time Travis Hill Books Reviews
Just finished this book. It has a very cool premise form a mind that you can tell is fairly twisted. Having read a few of Hills books I can say that they are getting better with every one. Looking forward to starting his next book! Keep em coming Mr. Hill!
I picked up this book to read a few days ago, and quickly realized that I would not be able to easily put it down. At the time I was a little tired, and kept telling myself, "just until the end of the chapter," and then of course I still could not stop. A few hours later I was over halfway through it, not noticing that I had been reading into the early hours of the morning. I liked the character development, at-times very humourous dialogue, and the historical research put into the writing. I now find myself curious to learn more about the time periods covered in the novel (but in the interest of not providing spoilers, I can't really elaborate on that subject!)
I purchased the paperback version of the book - apparently there was a bonus novel in the electronic version, meaning I should get myself into the fifth century and buy an e-reader.
Another time travel tale which had me thinking in circles, which is always a good sign.
Interesting journey into the past, circa 400AD for the escaped scientist, and for the spec-ops guy sent to retrieve or, rather harshly, eliminate him.
All in all, enough intrigue and twists, good character insights, humour and adventure to keep the pages turning rapidly.
I will undoubtedly be reading more from this author. Well worth a read.
A new twist on the Time Travel sub-genre. Well written, interesting characters. Highly recommended.
Mad scientist travels back in my time without authorization, and government soldier is sent after him to bring him back. But what if there is a multiverse, what past would you end up in, and could you come back. As Shakespeare said, that is the question. A good read.
I like time travel and alternate history stories, but this is one I couldn't stay with. After reading more than a third of this book told in the first person by one of the most snarky characters I have ever come across in fiction, I've given up on it. It's way too gabby, has too much redundant dialogue (for god's sake, kill Jameson and be done with it instead threatening it every time you open your mouth, and yes, I get the picture Jameson pretty much has a perpetual smug grin, so you don't have to mention it in every paragraph), and the moral and ethical debates between the characters regarding changing the history of the world are really pretty boring, at least after they have gone on ad nauseum.
