Definitely worth the wait for Charles Sailor's second superb novel, "The Man Who Rode the Tiger". Mr. Sailor's first book, "The Second Son", is a magnificent work by any standard. It seems I share this view with more than a few folks,since the first printing exceeded 1.2 million copies.Mr. Sailor has not lost his exquisite creative touch. "The Man Who Rode The Tiger" is truly the masterpiece of the intrigue/thriller genre. This book has everything an avid, discerning could want, and nothing else. Wonderful,unforgetable characters ranging from the very best of humanity to the wretched worst, a seriously excellent plot, which like the characters, is developed with a master's hand, exotic locales and action sequences that are on full-auto and astoundingly unique.
This is a compelling page-turner that will keep you up at night. I can only hope that "The Man Who Rode The Tiger" will soon become a well cast, well crafted movie.
In the interest of full and candid discolsure, I admit to one profound disappointment with "The Man Who Rode The Tiger"- it ended.

I bought this book for my sister. She read it but did not really like it so much. It did arrive when it was suppose to.
It was difficult for me to put this book down. I never knew what was going to happen next and I was on the edge of my seat the entire read. If you are looking for suspense and a great thriller, this is the book for you. I will be reading his other book next.
So I took a chance on this one and wasn't dissapointed, It was great from beginning to end. I wasn't sure I was interested in the story line but it was so well written I couldn't put it down.
The Second Son is by the same Author,why hasn't anyone put this guy on a talk show ,he's a great author.
I cannot tell you how long it's been since I was so addicted to a novel. With two young kids, it's challenging to read more than a chapter at a time. Mr Sailor's book sucked me in and I had to find any time I could to continue to read it until at last, sadly, it was done. My husband is probably happy the laundry is getting done again though. I can not wait to buy the next book.
Loved Second Son and was excited to read another Charles Sailor novel. I was not disappointed! The characters were so interesting and well developed. Great story line. Looking forward to a sequel of this novel.
Full of suspense. Riveting. Fascinating. I approach some books about contemporary China with skepticism as so many have little familiarity with attitudes, customs, negotiations and diplomacy. It appears to be an almost impossible bid to save a daughter, but hope is pivotal. The time factor is a rather unrealistic. Framed with limited access to crucial information and evidence, execution seems a given. Perhaps having been there and having been married to a Chinese man gives me a broader perspective. Though a bit fantastic, it was definitely a suspenseful spellbinder.
